There are a few places in Auckland that offer free wifi. A few will require
the purchase of at least a cup of coffee. Unfortunately I didn't keep up to
date my list of free wifi in Auckland.

I do know that there's more. I just remembered the Skycity metro
entertainment centre (also known as the building with the imax or formerly
bldg with borders bookshop) on Queen St has free wifi. (just rememebred and
thus not listed it yet)

For example Starbucks has wifi but I don't know if it is free or not
